Independent Jewelers Organization Welcomes Samantha Larson as New Director of Vendor Relations + Merchandise Strategy

April 2025 – Southport, CT — The Independent Jewelers Organization (IJO), the premier buying group for independent retail jewelers in North America and a founding partner of the Global Jewellery Network, is pleased to announce the appointment of Samantha “Sam” Larson as its new Director of Vendor Relations + Merchandise Strategy.

With more than 25 years of experience driving transformative growth in the luxury jewelry sector, Sam Larson, IJO’s new Director of Vendor Relations + Merchandise Strategy brings a distinctive blend of creativity, operational excellence, and commercial acumen. Her career spans leadership roles at some of the industry’s most respected names, including Borsheims, McTeigue & McClelland, and Stuller Inc., where she built a reputation as a forward-thinking leader who doesn’t just follow trends but anticipates and shapes them.

“We are beyond excited to welcome someone whose fingerprint is already on some of the most dynamic evolutions in fine jewelry,” said Stephen Barnes, President and CEO of IJO. “Her track record is not only impressive—it’s inspiring. Sam understands the heart of our industry, the needs of independent jewelers, and the importance of partnership at every level of the merchandise journey.”

Larson’s approach to merchandising combines data-driven insights with an intuitive understanding of consumer behavior. She excels at forecasting trends, optimizing inventory turnover, and curating assortments that resonate with today’s shoppers. Her focus on ethical sourcing and value-driven partnerships aligns with IJO’s mission to support independent jewelers across North America and beyond.

Recognized for fostering enduring vendor relationships, Larson brings a collaborative leadership style grounded in transparency and open communication. She has earned the respect of peers and partners for her strategic vision and ability to create lasting value.

In her new role, Larson will lead IJO’s vendor strategy—enhancing existing relationships while expanding the vendor network. Her data-informed approach will help IJO curate market-leading assortments that allow retail members to differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

“I am excited to join IJO and contribute to the team’s continued success,” Larson shared. “I look forward to working with such a talented group of individuals to bring fresh ideas, new vendors, and perspectives that will help our independent jewelers grow and succeed.”

Larson added, “Organizations like IJO—and the Global Jewellery Network—empower independent jewelers by uniting voices into a collective force, providing opportunities that wouldn’t otherwise be possible.”

Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter in IJO’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and community. With Larson at the helm of vendor relations and merchandise strategy, the future looks not only bright—but brilliantly bold.
